Executive Board Members
Marcus Smith - Honorary President
Founder and President of Sac Panthers from 2018-2023, now Sac Jr. Dragons (2024). Born and raised in Sacramento Ca. I spent majority of my life playing sports which consisted of baseball, basketball, and football. However, the community I was raised in did not have a organized youth football team, you had to play at school, in the streets, or at the neighborhood park. Football became my 1st love when I was in high school. From that moment on, I knew football would be a part of my life. Not only did I love playing, I later learned that I loved to coach. The 1st team I coached was the Oak Park Buccaneers, which was a great experience. This gave me the vision and interest to start my own sports program for the youth in the same rough community I came from. My mission with Sac Panthers now Sac Jr. Dragons is to provide positive mentorships between the coaches and the players as well as create an ongoing positive program that promotes unity and positive friendships on and off the field.
Denisha Williams - Vice President & Cheer Director
Joined Sac Panthers from 2018 - 2023 now known as Sac Jr. Dragons with my brother Marcus . I enjoy spending time with my family, my hobbies are going to the movies and the beach for some relaxation time. My passion is helping the athletes and parents feel part of this great organization. You will know when I am coming as I’m known for always yelling on the field. Guess I can blame that on raising 7 kids, 9 if I count my brother, Prez Marcus and our sister. I enjoy watching our babies (yes, I claim them all) during practice and especially during their games and while cheering. All my time and effort goes into helping this organization become a family atmosphere for all. As Vice President & Cheer Director, I handle all aspects from managing our fabulous volunteers (Parent Support Coordinator, Team Managers, Fundraising/Events), registration, player certification, finances, website updates, games calendar/schedule just to name a few. Welcome to the Dragons family.

David Cannon - Athletic Director
After playing football in my early teens and high school, I started coaching with my mentor. Learning and developing coaching techniques from my mentor kept me straight and narrow on and off the field. After several years of working alongside of my mentor became a official coach leading teams to divisional championships. I took time off to care for my family and focus on my goals. In 2021 I joined the Sacramento Panthers as the 6U head coach later becoming the interim athletic director. My goals as an Coach and AD are to create a safe, fun, productive, and active environment. Building relationships and bonds within my team. Secondly, reminding the athletes that a positive attitude and will to give 100% on and off the field leads to bigger and better things. Lastly, showing them no matter how bad of a day they are having, we are all a family and someone is always willing to listen to them.

Caleb Tate - Coaches Coordinator
Caleb is a Sacramento native who grew up playing football & basketball all the way through high school. Since graduating with his Bachelors Degree in Business Finance, Caleb has work in many different industries. However, nothing has compared to pouring into the next generation. Caleb works with at-risk youth through our organization’s community partner City of Refuge. His vision for his players is not just to teach them how to be better football players, but also better students, sons, brothers and friends.
